Her Story... I purchased my Eclipse brand new in April of 1996 with 7 miles on her. She is my first manual transmission car and when I bought her, I had no clue how to drive manual. I even asked the sales guy to show me real quick how to drive her. He thought I was crazy (I am, no need to ask!). Since then, I have learned and improved, and to make up for my horrible driving skills, I have spent many long hours modifying her to make her a fast and fun daily driver. For 7 years she was my work horse and now has over 105,000 miles and is still going strong. I have maintained her throughout the years as best I could, doing as much of my own mechanical work as I could. For many years she was my track car. When I began modiying her I wanted a 13 second car. I know, I know... what was I thinking? Well, she went 13s and it just wasn't enough. I didn't want to ruin her though so I decided to buy a 1st generation DSM and modify that for more speed. With that decision, she was relinquished of track duty and is now just a good looking, nice and quick street car. I have passed the track duty torch to my Talon.
Quick update... she is sold. I will miss her. A nice guy by the name of Joe came up from Florida and took her off my hands. I had her up for sale half heartedly. Joe called me on it though and so he got a great car. In her memory, her page will remain for all eternity. Last I heard, Joe has been taking great care of her. He installed a lightened flywheel and ACT 2600 clutch and has been enjoying her ever since he took her from me.
