I purchased my Talon in May of 2000 from a fellow employee in my company. I bought her knowing she needed some TLC but I also had all intentions o making her into a fast car. She had some body damage, the turbo was shot and the valve seals were gone. I drove her for about a year, replacing the turbo with a small 16G to keep her going until February of 2001 when I took the plunge and tore her apart. I completely removed the engine and transmission and had each rebuilt. That project took a good 3 months, but when I got her back, I knew she was destined to be fast. Since then, I have spent many hours and a lot of money to make her into a mean street machine. I have goals of an 11 second ¼ mile for her. Equipped now with all she has, it should be no problem in the hands of a competent driver. Unfortunately I suck so she is stuck in the 12s. I still have some body work to do, but mechanically, she is very sound. It took a year of tinkering to get her that way, but she is ready to reach her goals now. She is probably the fastest car I will ever own and not much around my area can touch her on the street.
